“ The Ringworld Engineers  has all the imaginativeness, convincing detail, and narrative vivacity that have come to be associated with the works of Larry Niven. Furthermore, it answers a lot of questions that have been tantalizing his readers for a long time.

Most highly recommended!” —Paul Anderson/5(). "THE RINGWORLD ENGINEERS has all the inventiveness, convincing detail and narrative vivacity that have come to be associated with the works of Larry Niven." - Poul Anderson "Fans of the original novel will not be disappointed, and newcomers will have no trouble following the plot, in this adventurous exploration of a mind-boggling landscape."/5().

So far, Ringworld and Ringworld Engineers are the only books I've read set in Niven's "Known Space" universe. The first book may have taken certain things for granted that weren't sketched out fully enough for me to appreciate the nuances of characters, places, events, whereas I felt this book did a better job of introducing ideas from the background shared by the Known Space books/5.

The Ringworld Engineers referred to in the original book several times make an appearance, all of the exhiliration and openness of the original book is there, and the fight we've all been waiting for: Protector vs. Kzin. Only 'Protector' (the book) is a better book in the Known Space series/5(14).

The first book in the Known Space series is Ringworld, and it received Hugo, Locus, Ditmar, and Nebula awards. Niven has also written fantasy novels, including the series The Magic Goes Away. He has also collaborated with fellow science fiction authors Jerry Pournelle and Steven Barnes on several :   "THE RINGWORLD ENGINEERS has all the inventiveness, convincing detail and narrative vivacity that have come to be associated with the works of Larry Niven." - Poul Anderson "Fans of the original novel will not be disappointed, and newcomers will have no trouble following the plot, in this adventurous exploration of a mind-boggling landscape."/5(53).

The Ringworld Engineers is a Hugo and Locus award-nominated science fiction novel by Larry Niven, set in his Known Space universe and considered a classic of science fiction literature.

It is the first of the sequels to the Hugo and Nebula award-winning novel Ringworld, and has ties into numerous other books set in Known : Larry Niven. The Ringworld series consists of four books: Ringworld, The Ringworld Engineers, The Ringworld Throne, and Ringworld’s children.

The first book was published inand the last did not appear until About Larry Niven. Larry Niven is a highly popular science fiction writer, born in in Los Angeles California. The Ringworld Engineers is the sequel to Ringworld. In Ringworld, Larry Niven introduced us to the concept of a world made in the shape of an extraordinarily large ring encircling a star.

In this book he gives us answers to questions we might not have even asked about the Ringworld, but that others apparently did.5/5(5).

The Ringworld Engineers () About book: ( was turning into a stale year for SF. That summer, I really needed the solace of good, hard SF to escape, if just fleetingly, some harsh realities, same reality having given me long days and nights to read and listen/5(2).

The Ringworld Engineers (TRE)  is the Ringworld novel I was hoping for. I feel like the two could have been one big novel. If I had just been given  Ringworld, I would have felt short-changed because I would want more.

The Ringworld Engineers. by Larry Niven. Dedication. Ringworld is ten years old; and I have never stopped getting letters about it. People have been commenting on the assumptions, overt and hidden, and the mathematics and the ecology and the philosophical implications, precisely as if the Ringworld were a proposed engineering project and they were being paid for the work.

About Ringworld Engineers. A return voyage to the astonishing world of Larry Niven’s Ringworld, with even more remarkable adventures and surprises, and a solution to that tantalizing question left from the earlier book: how was Ringworld built and by whom.

It’s been twenty years since the quixotic and worldsweary Louis Wu discovered the Ringworld. The Ringworld engineers. [Larry Niven] -- Sequel to: Ringworld. Twenty years after discovering Ringworld, Louis Wu returns, the captive of a non-human race. To survive on the planet, which is no longer stable, he must locate the control.
